Review of Douar SamraDuring our recent family vacation, we had the pleasure of stopping at Douar Samra for lunch while exploring the stunning mountains of Morocco. Our experience was enriched by the breathtaking views of the Toubkal valley and the warm hospitality of Jacqueline and her dedicated team. What stood out to us as a family was the welcoming atmosphere and the unique interactions with fellow guests. The communal dining area allowed us to share delicious meals prepared with fresh vegetables from the on-site gardens, fostering a sense of connection among everyone present. Our children particularly enjoyed the half-day walks organized by Mohammed, which commenced right from the Douar at 1800 meters. The routes offered a fascinating glimpse into local Berber life and led us through the fertile valleys, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting and photography. While we didn't spend the night, we appreciated the rustic charm and comfy rooms with open fires. The sounds of cockerels crowing and donkeys bellowing added to the authentic experience. Douar Samra is a lovely family-friendly retreat, and we look forward to returning for a longer stay to fully embrace the beauty and adventure it offers.
